Anti-Slip Mat & AutoGlym Clean Wheels

5th post on the same day! Wow! Happy New Year by the way! Today's the end of 2008!

Dropped by Home-Fix at Compass Point before getting dinner. Bought another piece of anti-slip dash mat and an extra piece for chao old man...
Also got AutoGlym Clean Wheels as my Turtle Wax F21 Foaming Wheel Cleaner is running out.
Costs breakdown :
AutoGlym Clean Wheels - S$17.60
Non-Slip Dash Mat - S$2.70 each

After that, went upstairs to the budget shop and got a roll of 30cm x 125 cm blue colour non-slip mat for the boot to try out. Really need something to hold my barang in the boot else everytime corner at speed, all the items will fly... zzz

Decided to go down to ride to try out the mats since wifey forcing me to throw rubbish anyway...

White Glove Box Light

Visited Chris again after company lunch to get suitable white LED light for glove box stock replacement. Luckily he saw me dismantling my stock light and gave a better recommendation as compared to the 360 degrees T10 I initially thought of getting. Totally satisfied with the brightness! Spent abt 2 hours chatting with him sia...
Cost - S$15.

First Summon

Wah liao eh! Kenna my 1st summon for this ride...
Thought an hour is sufficient (actually I cheated 15 mins cos I parked at 12 noon, hehee...) for company lunch at Gayatri Indian Restaurant, turn out the whole event took abt 2 hours... but luckily is S$6 and not S$30...

Inspection Of HKS Muffler @ Vicom

Proceed to Vicom Kaki Bukit straight after Fong Kim for inspection. Luckily still remember the location of the inspection centre even though only went there once 2 years + ago for my TTE inspection for previous ride. Had to wait for a Swift Sports to finish her inspection first before my turn, so spent the time taking the above pics.

After abt 40 mins at the centre, finally everything is done, well, sort of. Sipei sway the computer is down at the inspection centre so gotta make do with a temporary inspection approval letter instead of a proper official one... Was told this will do in place of the usual official version. Inspection costs is a shocking S$78.10!!! My previous two muffler inspections within the past two years were like 50+ to 60 nia! Wah liao, why the sudden jump!?!

Blur Raymond (AD); Followed By Installation Of HKS

Went back to find Raymond (AD) regarding yesterday's 1k servicing. Receipt didn't show filter charge, so there are only 2 possibilities :
- they never change my oil filter, which I seriously doubt, cos Keng did ask me if I got bring my own oil filter or using theirs and I replied using theirs
- Raymond forgot to charge me

Was actually prepared to wait outside the workshop since it's barely 8.30am; was pleasantly surprised that workshop is already opened. Anyway, end result, paid additional S$10 for the filter. Raymond gave me a discount for my honesty and to compensate my petrol. Wahaha!

After that, suddenly got the itch to change my exhaust muffler once again... so decided to wait for FK to open, then called and asked if they accept card payment, which they did.
Mai tus liao, since got a bit of spare time left, straightaway drive in and told Jeff I wanna fix HKS.
First time I looking closely at the stock muffler after having the ride for 12 days. The stock muffler is really kinda fat sia...

And here's the sleek new tin can. Looking pretty inside the box. FMGRT2333, poor picture quality due to lousy Sony Ericsson W880i phone.

Damage on pocket : S$980 by cash/nets, S$1,009.40 by card.

1k Servicing & Air-con Filter

Went back to Huat Lee with the intention of getting another bottle of 4 litres H-Tech for my 1k servicing. Wah liao! So coincidental spotted my next door neighbour who also drives a FD2 at the workshop doing his 80k servicing. Nigel was fantastic today, he simply hand me a new bottle of 4 litre H-Tech and tell me to just use and simply return the balance to him. Totally no charge! Wow! He's da man!

Anyway, quickly went over to Raymond's Auto Dynamac and got my servicing done. Along the way, passed by FK and saw the place still empty so dropped by and asked Raymond (so many Raymonds around) abt HKS muffler; was seriously tempted to install it there and then! Wahaha! In the end, decided to settle my bodykit first before committing on the muffler, so gave it a pass.

Labour charge at AD for servicing - S$20
Install CaireFresh aircon filter as well. Price - S$45.
Hmm, how come no charge for oil filter? Dun tell me AD use back old one?!

Motul H-Tech 100 Plus 5W30

Went to my usual servicing workshop : Huat Lee Batteries & Motor Service to get 4 litres of Motul H-Tech 100 Plus 5W30 for my 1k servicing. Had to get the oil separately and service elsewhere as Nigel's place is fully booked these few days.
Anyway, decide to go with H-Tech instead of the usual 300V cos I intend to do my 2nd servicing at 5k. Most probably stick with H-Tech again till 10k before switching over to 300V.
Cost of engine oil - S$90.

Geez! Just realised that FD2 need 4.5-4.8 litres... duhz....

Non Slip Mat & 3M Hooks

Went to Home-Fix at Marina Square and spotted the no-holes type of non-slip mat selling @ S$2.70. Got a piece to try out cos not very sure how the wierd flowery shape will look like on the dash. Will be putting the 2 charcoal bags on top of this mat since they have been slipping right and left whenever I hasten around the corners...
Also got 3 3M micro hooks (S$4.95) to stick in the center box to hang the keys.

ArmorAll vs AutoGlym

Tried ArmorAll Bug & Tar Gel to get rid of the petrol stains... not really effective...
Got AutoGlym Intensive Tar Remover next, seems to work better. Petrol stains on body seems to be totally removed. However, the pink stains on the mud flap is still stuck...

Red Logo Key Cover

Visited Thian Seng Motors at #01-22 at Blk 261 Waterloo Street and got the CTR red Honda logo key cover. Removing the original cover is just a simple 1 screw affair.
Looks good!

2nd Tank & Petrol Spill!

Went to the usual Esso petrol station along Tampines Ave 9 to top up petrol. Drove alongside pump 4 and started pumping Esso 5000 using the leftmost nozzle. Set it at the slowest setting and stood at one side to wait.

Had a bloody shock of my life when all of a sudden saw petrol all over the floor at around the 40 litre mark! DAMN! The nozzle failed to auto stop and is still pumping out petrol even though my tank is full! Hell, the whole of the rear left is stained with pink now.... Grrrr...

Anyway, pumped 40.33 litres of Esso 5000; amount inclusive of those overflowed to the ground... Distance travelled - 461.2km. FC is abt 11.4357km/l.

White Lights

Visited my usual supplier of lights, Chris or M400 as he's more commonly known in the forums, for a change of lights, after company's forum at HIA. Got the following :

- x2 advance edition 360 degrees Sssuper bright 10 SMT T10 LED pole lights
- x2 Sssuper bright 360 degrees 18 LED reverse lights
- x2 1 watt SMD T10 LED rear license plate lights
- x2 Sssuper bright 15 SMT LED map lights
- x2 Sssuper bright front door lights

Everything white of course!
Total cost : S$139

Also had my cabin light and boot light changed to white LEDs. Direct bring over from old ride to save some $.

New Shoes : 17" x 8j BG Prodrive GC-05F

Gave up on Justin... actually am ready to give up on British Gold GC-05 and go back to VR GTS... however had a little spare time today and rush over to LS with chao keng old man.
So happen they got stock for 17", and BG some more... asked for quote together with RE01R. Unfortunately their stock is late '07 and profile only left 215/45R17...

In the end decided on the spot for AD07 instead. So instead of 18" shoes, I'm on 17"... not so blink blink, but at least FC should be better, AND more importantly, when it's time to change rubbers, not so tuff on the pocket.

Total expenditure for 17" x 8j BG GC-05F, offset +43, and black centercaps /w AD07 225/45R17 and full set of McGards, after trading in stock rims and tyres used for 350km -> S$3,350.

Added a couple of pics to show the flushness which I'm really satisfied with despite having offset of +43.
